The RSA Foundation is in partnership with Snow Valley Mountain Resort (located between Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear) to provide a wide variety of snow activities – including independent skiing (with some or little supervision), three and four-tracking, and mono-skiing with each service specifically tailored to each participant’s capabilities and interests.

The winter package includes instructors, equipment, and ski lift access for a 3-hour morning session, and can be extended to include an additional 2-hour afternoon session.

All ski instructors are PSIA trained and certified, with the Rim of the World Special Athletes Foundation providing at no cost a wide range of equipment to adapt to each specific need. A discounted fee will be required by Snow Valley for mountain use.

Lessons are taught 7 days a week. The Snow Valley Mountain Resort cost is $85 for the lesson. The second lesson on the same day if available and appropriate is an additional $40.00.   The cost of the lesson includes instruction, lift ticket, rental of skis or snowboard, adaptive equipment and lifters as needed.  The Adaptive Program is offered as a private lesson format (one on one, two on one) under the supervision of one of our specialized instructors certified in adaptive techniques.

Lessons must be booked in advance through the Snow Valley Adaptive Sports Center office at (909) 867-2751ext.135. The lesson will be scheduled after we have reviewed the completed student intake form.

In the warm weather, the RSA Foundation offers a wide range of activities, including water sports (kayaking, paddle boarding, water bike), fishing, biking, golf, hiking and many other outings. Our purpose is “to have the adaptive athletes learn a new skill and, most importantly, develop self-confidence from the experience.”

…and have fun too!

The water sports and other outdoor experiences are centered at Lake Arrowhead and surrounding communities.  There is no cost for the summer activities (at the current time).

The RSA Foundation offers a year-round YOGA activity for nearly all special needs participants with virtually any need or requirement.  The YOGA activity is provided within the Lake Arrowhead community.
