owhead, we would love to have you join us. To make arrangements contact Jack at 310-600-0600 or Jack@rimspecialathletes.org
Since Covid-19, we began offering remote therapeutic yoga sessions via the Zoom platform. These practices are led by bobiane, a certified therapeutic yoga instructor with Madison and Kim as assistants.
Life is stressful enough, but when the experience of the Covid-19 is added to the mix it can feel unsurmountable and overwhelming. RSA would like to invite the community to our virtual yoga practice. Among other benefits, yoga will help you experience increased energy, improved balance and flexibility, decreased anxiety and depression, better stress management, greater sense of peace and improved overall fitness.
We are offering evening and morning practices each week. Virtual Yoga programming is safe and therapeutic via the Zoom platform.
If you would like to sign up, you can contact bobiane at 310-963-1856.
For additional virtual Adaptive activities such as: ASL (American Sign Language), exercise classes, line dancing, and gardening go to Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra’s website, www.disabledsportseasternsierra.org.
WINTER ACTIVITIES
Rim Special Athletes provides various snow-based activities including, sledding, snow-shoeing, cross country skiing, tubbing and winter outings.
VETERANS WINTER SPORTS CLINIC
The RSA Veterans Winter Clinic promotes biopsychosocial rehabilitation and sports performance enhancement by integrating the activity of alpine skiing and snowboarding into interventions that physically challenge the body through movement and psychosocially challenge the mind/ body through the building and strengthening of internal positive resources (resiliency).
Some of the goals we focus on:
SUMMER ACTIVITIES
In the warm weather, RSA offers a wide range of activities, including water sports (kayaking, paddle boarding, water bike), fishing, biking, hiking and many other outings. Our purpose is “to have the adaptive athletes learn a new skill and, most importantly, develop self-confidence from the experience.”
…and have fun too!
The water sports and other outdoor experiences are centered at Lake Arrowhead and surrounding communities. There is no cost for the summer activities.
YEAR-ROUND ACTIVITIES
The RSA Foundation offers a year-round YOGA activity for nearly all special needs participants with virtually any need or requirement. The YOGA activity is provided within the Lake Arrowhead community.
